The legendary English
Cricket all-rounder (for the younger generation the old
day Freddie Flintofff!). Ian Botham OBE was born back on
the 24 November 1955 in Heswall, Cheshire and was one of
the best ever all rounders to play for England. Scored an
incredible 5200 test runs and 2113 1-day ones as well as
taking 383 test wickets and another 145 one day international
wickets as well as endles crucial catches. Ian Botham was
also named Wisden cricketer of the year in 1978. Ian Botham
was one of those players who could win you game with bat
or ball when you least expected it. Who can foget the 1981
Ashes match at Headingly with England staring down the barrel
but somehow plucked victory from the jaws of defeat.
Ian Botham Played for
Somerset, Worcester and the newest arrivals on the county
scene Durham and he also had a spell as footballer for Scunthorpe.
